Maude Urban Living

Location & Date:

Seattle, WA - 2017

Employer:

Keystone Properties NW

As I continued to work at Keystone Properties NW, I was able to build my experience as a graphic designer. I was tasked to create a logo and brand identity for Maude Urban Living - a studio complex based in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle, WA. This project was different from most. While working under Keystone, to manage properties we proposed to building owners to manage properties and their tenants. To really sell our service, I also created a presentation about Keystone and their marketing strategy along with the six logo concepts and a sample of the branding identity within the span of 24 hours.

Conceptualize and Sketch

Maude was the name of Theodore Roosevelt’s pet pig. I tried variations of a half shaped pig and incorporating in and outside of the logo. Roosevelt was filled with local restaurants and shops attracting college students and people with new careers. The red was chosen to match the red lining of the building itself. The final logo was then topped with its name and encapsulated in a box with the shape at the bottom.

We made the deal…

After solidifying the partnership for Maude Urban Living I continued to finalize the identity for Maude by building signs, flyers, and move-in packets. The aboard allowed the viewer to see what types of studios they offered and where they could get more information. The flyer would address all the amenities Maude has to offer, square footage and pricing, as well as where to apply or for more information while on-site or on tour.

Many experiences after moving in tenants had multiple questions and while asking the management all the questions was the right approach they would have to wait hours until they had a response. The move-in packet was a guide to get the best living experience they could after getting all settled in. This packet answers many common questions such as Wi-Fi instructions and how to make payments.

The successful partnership increased overall interest and experience for all prospective tenants and residents. The place that will have a pig to greet you all the way.
