Kendrick Lamar, a Hip Hop music artist as my subject matter which whom I connect with on a personal level. I was also inspired by his song, "Element," I had this inspiration of layer shapes with primary colors over subject matters. I wanted to create a mosaic like piece which basically takes a half-toned image and silk screened these pieces onto 8 x 8" wood pieces. Layered with the elements and then composed together to make one whole image.
